A new charter presented by leading Australian advocates is enshrining the protection of aged care residents from sexual assault and developing clear frameworks for where and when sexual contact is appropriate. An online seminar/workshop for residential aged care service providers on Monday, December 6, aims to help participants understand changes to reporting sexual assault under the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS), differentiate between Priority 1 and 2 reports, understand the physical and psychological impacts of sexual assault and access the #ReadyToListen resources.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) says it received almost 4500 notifications of serious incidents from residential aged care providers in just six weeks as part of the new Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).
