The continuation of once-in-a-generation aged care reform following the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety is critical in being able to achieve the kind of care and support older Australians both need and deserve, the Aged & Community Care Providers Association says.
Aged care providers are calling for urgent action to protect residents and staff from a winter COVID-19 wave which is hitting more than one third of the nation's facilities.
ACCPA has welcomed acknowledgement by the new minister for aged care, Anika Wells, that aged and community care needs “urgent reform as quickly as possible” and that the situation is worse than initially thought.
In a move that being heralded as a "new era" for Australia’s aged care sector, providers across the country will now be represented by a new, single industry association to be called Aged & Community Care Providers Association (ACCPA). BIANCA ROBERTS reports
