Arcare Noosa’s close-knit community – including residents, families and team members – have celebrated their one-year anniversary since opening on January 18, 2021, with an intimate celebration.
Cassandra Wallis, Arcare Noosa’s lifestyle coordinator, pictured above right, said working at the facility was a privilege for she and her fellow staff.
“We are excited to celebrate and commemorate our one-year anniversary with the first residents and our team members who have been here since the opening of Arcare Noosa,” Wallis said.
This time last year Avdo, 81, was the first resident to move in, along with Robert, 80, moving in the next day and Leila shortly, 96, shortly after.
Avdo’s daughter, Senka who volunteers at the residence, shared that she and her family have been honoured to have their dad as the first resident in ‘such a beautiful new facility’.
“Mum and I are happy because we know he is happy here,” Senka said.
“The team have created a wonderful home environment for everyone.
“We have also loved getting to know the other residents and their families as they have moved in.
“We all feel like family now.”
Laura-Jo Bleasdale, Residence Manager at Arcare Noosa said she and all her staff at the facility are very pleased that residents have embraced their new lifestyle and have formed new and lasting friendships over the last year.
“Together with our globally celebrated relationship-first approach and our dedicated team, Arcare supports resident health and well-being to ensure they live their best lives,” she said.
“The year has gone by so quickly, and what a year it has been!” she told everyone assembled for the celebration.
“It’s been an absolute pleasure welcoming and settling clients into their new home at Arcare Noosa and working alongside the most wonderful team of professionals who go above and beyond every day.
“It is an honour to be your facility manager.
“Here’s to another great year ahead!”
