With the easing of restrictions there has never been a better time to nominate your favourite team members across catering, cleaning, laundry, and lifestyle services within aged care homes for the 2021 Hospitality & Lifestyle Aged Care (HLAC) Awards.

Run by leading aged care catering software provider, SoupedUp, the Awards are an opportunity to say thanks to the hard-working and caring people in the aged care sector who have gone above and beyond during the past challenging year.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the people that make an extraordinary difference in the lives of our aged community in care.

Anyone can nominate – individuals, a co-worker, residents, family, or friends – for awards in nine different awards categories, which include:

  • Excellence In Catering Service
  • Catering Innovation Through COVID-19
  • Hospitality Manager Of The Year
  • Chef/Cook Of The Year
  • Food Service Assistant Of The Year
  • Cleaner Of The Year
  • Laundry Services Individual Of The Year
  • Lifestyle/Activities Individual Of The Year
  • Outstanding Event/Theme Day

The judges for the 2021 HLAC Awards have been announced, as the November 30 deadline for the unique awards program draws near.

All of them leaders in their field, the judging panel includes:

  • Kerri Lanchester, general manager of members relations, Leading Age Services Australia
  • Maria Said, CEO, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia
  • Daniela Torretta, head of Aged Care Navigation, Care360
  • Nelson Mathews, president, Meals on Wheels Association

Maria Said is delighted to again be included on the judging panel for the 2021 HLAC Awards.

“I was blown away by the inspiring applications in the 2018 HLAC Awards, and after a tough year with the global pandemic, I’m looking forward to helping give back to hard-working aged care staff” Said explained.

Daniela Torretta commented that an initiative like the HLAC Awards is an exciting opportunity, because it is directly rewarding aged care staff.

“We’re thrilled to be involved with a program that recognises individuals who often fly under the radar,” she said.

Belinda Adams, founder & CEO of SoupedUp, said the company is delighted to have Leading Age Services Australia, Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia, Care360 and Meals on Wheels Australia on board to judge the worthy nominations across the hospitality and lifestyle categories.

“We consider our role in recognising hard-working staff to be one of our most treasured responsibilities and look forward to working with the judges to make this a reality,” she said.
