Slow vaccine rollout in aged care prompts one provider to go it alone

Must read

Residents at Shepparton’s Menarock Life Aged Care facility were thrilled this week to receive a special Easter visit by a group of community-minded local tradies just prior to the Easter long weekend.

Wearing their signature unmissable ‘hi-vis’ attire, complete with added Easter bunny ears and decorated masks, the workers helped the Easter Bunny deliver chocolate treats.

Plasterers from Goulburn Valley Plaster said the idea came about during ‘smoko’, when they began thinking about this time last year, where “so many people in aged care were unable to have an Easter”.

“We really wanted to make it extra special for them this year,” General Manager Brad Parsons said.

Local resident Judy Lloyd admitted she was very surprised by the gesture and very thankful.

“I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was very special,” she said.

It reminded me of Easter egg hunting when we were kids”.
